Memento
(2000)
Director: Christopher Nolan
Starring: Guy Pearce, Carrie-Anne Moss, Joe Pantoliano
our comment. "Some people just pick the coolest roles, keep it up Carrie-Anne."
Memento tells the story of Leonard Shelby, a former insurance investigator who witnesses a brutal attack on his wife. Knocked unconscious, Leonard wakes up with a rare brain condition - he no longer possesses short-term memory. He can remember his name and all the details of his past, but can no longer make new memories. So Leonard does the only normal thing a man in his condition can do, he compulsively snaps polaroids and scribbles notes, then tattoos the important facts directly onto his body. With these "weapons" in hand the distraught Leonard goes on a manhunt to avenge his wife's death.

An incredibly original film that is both puzzling and extremely entertaining at the same time.

Story: 8/10 - A film-noir with a different twist.

Acting: 8/10 - Some people just pick the coolest roles, keep it up Carrie-Anne.

Violence: 4/10 - It starts of with a bullet in the head, but goes fairly downhill from there.

Nudity: 0/10 - Whatever they paid Halle Berry, double it for Carrie-Anne Moss.

Coolness: 8/10 - Follows in the übercool tradition of The usual suspects and PI.
