Invasion of the flesh hunters
aka Cannibal apocalypse (1982)
Director: Anthony M. Dawson
Starring: John Saxon, Elisabeth Turner, John Morghen
our comment. "Holy shit, these actors stink."
Years after the end of the Vietnam War a group of veterans are haunted by the memories of their days as prisoners of the Viet Cong. They were starved and tortured until they turned to cannibalism. Now, years later, strange nightmares, sudden blackouts and cravings for raw meat are slowly driving the same men into an insane fury that even death cannot stop. A wicked curse is soon taking hold, because according to the Official Zombie Guidebook any victim of a flesh-eater turns into a flesh-eater himself. No mercy in the world of exploitation cinema.

Not as vicious as many of the 80's gorefests, but it has a few disgusting moments.

Story: 4/10 - What it lacks in originality it makes up for in sheer brutality.

Acting: 0/10 - Holy shit, these actors stink and the american voice-overs are unbelieavably bad.

Violence: 7/10 - John Morghen (Cannibal ferox, Gates of Hell) is the master of dying nasty.

Nudity: 4/10 - You'll think twice about making out in movie theaters.

Coolness: 4/10 - The ending is bloody mayhem, but what's with the funky pop-music?
