The Mack
(1973)
Director: Michael Campus
Starring: Max Julien, Richard Pryor, Roger E. Mosley, Don Gordon
our comment. "The entire cast looks completely stoned!"
Max Julien is Goldie, a sharp, smooth-talking hustler who's back on the streets after five years in the slammer. Richard Pryor is his sidekick Slim, who uses his wit to survive in the city and Roger E. Mosley plays Goldie's brother. They've got the brains, the muscle and the cool to take on the pushers.

Packed with raw power, The Mack takes an uncompromising look at big city street life and survival in 70's Oakland.

Story: 5/10 - Following the basic blaxploitation schlocky formula.

Acting: 7/10 - The entire cast looks completely stoned, check them playing softball in plattform shoes.

Violence: 6/10 - Death by dynamite, battery acid and rats should probably sum it up.

Nudity: 1/10 - Dissapointingly little for a movie about pimps and hookers.

Coolness: 7/10 - The screenwriter was an ex-con and pimp in real life, how's that for cool realism.
