Squirm
(1976)
Director: Jeff Lieberman
Starring: Don Scardino, Patricia Pearcy, R.A. Dow
our comment. "Nothing like bringing the kids to see a good old fashioned flesh-eating worms flick."
When a powerfull storm knocks Fly Creek, Georgia's power lines down onto wet soil, the resulting surge of electricity drives large, bloodthirsty (!?)worms up to the surface - and then out of their soil-tilling minds! The unsuspecting townspeople (who just happen to share one simple, lonely IQ)) discover that their sleepy fishing village is suddemly overrun with worms that burrow right into their skin.

Damn, simple electricity can turn insects into carnivorous little monsters, usually in these movies you would have to live near a toxic waste dump, an A-bomb test site, or a nuclear power plant to be at risk. Oh, well!

Story: 6/10 - Actually not as bad as it sounds, far more entertaining than other infestation flicks.

Acting: 5/10 - Playing a crazed, annibalistic worm-mutant must have been a real challenge

Violence: 5/10 - The worm shots are particularly eerie and gross, but the violence level is kept fairly low.

Nudity: 0/10 - Fortunately not, nothing like bringing the kids to see a good old fashioned flesh-eating worms flick.

Coolness: 6/10 - Sure it's cool, but then again i have nothing to worry about, 'coz i've never gone fishing.
