The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
(2001)
Director: Peter Jackson
Starring: Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Liv Tyler, Viggo Mortensen, Cate Blanchett
our comment. "Is it just me or has Peter Jackson gone soft."
The Fellowship of the Ring is the first of three movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien's trilogy. It tells the story of Frodo Baggins, a shy young hobbit who inherits the One Ring that could grant absolute power to the evil Sauron if he gets his hands on it. The title of the film refers to the fellowship formed among hobbits, men, and wizards alike, in their singular effort to prevent the Dark Lord from ruling Middleearth and enslaving its inhabitants.

In the hands of any other director this could have turned out really lame, but in Peter Jackson we trust.

F/X: 10/10 - Give the man loads of cash, and let him do a remake of "Night of the Lepus".
