The Howling
(1981)
Director: Joe Dante
Starring: Dee Wallace Stone, Patrick Macnee, Dennis Dugan
our comment. "These creatures hunger for more than pizza!"
Severly shaken after a near-fatal encounter with a serial killer, TV newscaster Karen White takes some much-needed time off. Hoping to conquer her inner demons, she heads for "the Colony", a secluded retreat where her new neighbors are just a tad too eager to make her feel at home. Also, there seems to be a bizarre link between her would-be attacker and this supposedly safe haven. And when, after nights of being tormented by savage shrieks and unearthly cries, Karen ventures into the forest to find answers, she makes a terrifying disvovery.

One of the best werewolf movies ever made!

Story: 7/10 - A feast of references for horror film buffs!

Acting: 6/10 - A bunch of Joe Dante regulars, Dee Wallacewas the mother in E.T.

Violence: 5/10 - These creatures hunger for more than pizza.

Nudity: 6/10 - Unaviodable since werewolves always wakes up naked (and confused).

Coolness: 8/10 - Overshadowed by John Landis' An American werewolf in London, but it's really much better.

F/X: 9/10 - The effects by Rob Bottin is excellent!
