An idyllic summer afternoon drive becomes a nightmare for a group of young people when they take a wrong turn in the Texas badlands. They end up being terrorized by a family of inbred cannibals, the most menacing of which is a huge, chainsaw-wielding maniac wearing a human-skin mask.
Made with tounge firmly in cheek, this is a disturbing and mezmerising saga of gore, flesh, mayhem, and violence whose reputation has only grown over the years.
This movie was inspired by the exploits of real-life killer cannibal Edward Gein, and is not actually based on a true story as the opening predicts. But who cares this is an exploitation classic, and a quite creepy one I might add.
