First off, this is not a remake. Samuel L.Jackson plays John Shaft's nephew (surprise, surprise), and now it's his turn to be the private dick who's a sex machine with all the chicks.
So the story goes, white guy kills black guy outside a bar while an off-duty waitress watches the whole thing, the law does jack shit and the killer hires other killers to kill the waitress, but Shaft wants justice and blah blah blah!!!
What's next, a remake of Dawn of the Dead starring Chris O'donnel and Meg Ryan, a Starsky & Hutch movie starring Brad Pitt and Val Kilmer or a Charlie's Angels movie starring... (sigh!), have you gotten the picture yet... FUCK this movie!
Investigation finished: 2000-12-27
Story: 2/10 - The original Shaft's nephew chases a racist killer, great plot!
Acting: 4/10 - The acting is not bad, but how many movies does this guy do in a year, it's starting to show.
Violence: 1/10 - Zzzzzzz...
Nudity: 0/10 - No reason to move your thumb from the fast-forward button.
Coolness: 0/10 - The first movie was at least hip and had a cool soundtrack, even though it was pretty dull. This "remake" is just plain dull.
Skid-marks: 1/10 - Nothing even remotely interesting.
