Enter the Dragon
(1973)
Director: Robert Clouse
Starring: Bruce Lee, John Saxon, Jim Kelly
our comment. "... this is the sound I wanna hear when I'm walking down the street."
Despite having starred in only five movies before his untimely and mysterious death, at age 32, Lee revolutionized the action genre with his unique martial-arts style. His comedic grace would later influence Jackie Chan, and the brutal Sonny Chiba almost certainly picked up his bloodthirsty glare from Lee.

Bruce Lee is recruited by the British to aid in bringing down the opium empire of the vil Han, ruler of an island empire located outside of the government's normal jurisdictions. As it turns out, Han is also a renegade Shaolin monk from Lee's temple and Lee's sister's suicide was caused by one of Han's aides. With all this motivation Lee agrees to enter the annual martial arts tournament held on Han's island. There he teams up with two americans (yes you guessed it, John and Jim) to bring down the Han man.

Enter the dragon is draped in pure 1970s kitsch, complete with leisure suits and an incredible soundtrack by lalo Schifrin who always seem to deliver the good stuff. A definitive all-time crowd pleaser.

Acting: 4/10 - Lee, Saxon and Kelly all got oscars for their performances in this film, or was it just John Saxon. I forget.

Violence: 6/10 - There's a huge brawl at the end, I loved watching these imbeciles at play.

Nudity: 5/10 - Released the same year as "Deep throat", but not as much nudity though.

Coolness: 10/10 - Jim Kelly is the man, why choose between two girls when you can have both. Way to go, Jimmy.

Skid-marks: 0/10 - I'll bet you a hundred bucks that old Brucie doesn't know how to drive.

Soundz: 10/10 - The coolest soundtrack EVER, this is the sound I wanna hear when I'm walking down the street.
