Night of the creeps
(1986)
Director: Fred Dekker
Starring: Jason Lively, Steve Marshall, Jill Whitlow, Tom Atkins
our comment. "Mix The Blob, Revenge of the nerds and Night of the living dead, oh yeah!"
Some frat brothers break into a medical lab and steal a body containing alien slugs that enter victims' mouths and breed in the brain. Now this turns people into blood thirsty zombies, and it's up to our nerdy trio to save the day.

This horror comedy is a lot better than it sounds and it's full of surprises, scares and some laughs. Night of the creeps runs like a 50's cheapie, but it has so much going for it (exploding heads, slugs, naked sorority babes, exploding heads, zombie cats & dogs, an axe murderer, Oh! did I mention the exploding heads) that it definitely deserves the title: a brainless and funny classic.

Story: 5/10 - Mix The Blob, Revenge of the nerds and Night of the living dead, oh yeah! Throw in some Shivers while you're at it, and there's your story. Nothing new, but always fun.

Acting: 6/10 - Not really good, but the characters are not as annyoing as they could (and should) be. Tom Atkins is grat as a seasoned police detective.

Violence: 7/10 - Zombies, exploding heads, and an axe wielding dead psychopath, but violent NOOOOOO!

Nudity: 6/10 - Of course, Fred Dekker is decent enough to throw in some quick nudity. Thanx Fred!

Coolness: 4/10 - The last names of the main characters are Cronenberg, Romero and Carpenter (all horror filmmakers for those of you who don't know), a bit too obvious in-joke for my taste, but the slugs kick ass.

Skid-marks: 5/10 - A bus full of frat assholes crash, and they all die. Seconds later they come back as... you guessed it ZOMBIES.
