Five friends go to a cabin in the woods (don't they know that's dangerous) of Tennessee, and wind up finding the Naturom de Monto (Book of the dead) and an audiotape containing demon ressurection passages. They play the tape and release the evil spirits lurking in the forest.
Soon an unseen flying demon, evil sex-crazed tree branches, and possessed victims are approaching from everywhere, with gory slaughter close behind.
This first-time, low-budget horror movie not only led to a successful career for its creator but was one of the most original features of the 80's. A perfect nam-a-rama for true horror fans.

Story: 6/10 - A very potent mix of fright and fun.
Acting: 7/10 - Nobody can take a beating like Bruce Campbell, highly amusing!
Violence: 10/10 - Even killer trees populate this wildly slapstick gore-fest. The effects are not particularly offensive, but it's still strong stuff.
Nudity: 4/10 - Not much nudity, just the obligatory woman gets raped by a tree scene.
Coolness: 10/10 - Filmed with so much style and craftmanship it's almost unberable.
