Director J.P.Simon must be from somewhere far beyond the galaxy of Completenutter, because this is one wacky flick. A health inspector in a small town start to suspect something fishy is going on starts to investigate, it seems big black slugs breed in the sewer and come out of sinks and toilets.
Now this is not your average little bunch of slugs, they're giant (the ones we see are small, but we know they're giant 'cuz the beloved townsfolk say so) flesh-eating mutant slugs. What could possibly cause this, you ask? Toxic waste of course. Drop a bug in a toxic waste basket, and you better get insect spray the size of a fire extinguisher. Or you can do as the hero in this movie, use explosives and destroy the whole pathetic town while your at it.
All and all an enjoyable bug-hunt, with lotsa gore and even more laughs. This movie is still nothing compared to "Night of the lepus" where carnivorous bunnies (yes, bunnies) attack civilization, a masterpiece that should be shown at every film-school!

Story: 3/10 - Based on Shaun Hutson's bestseller, but I am sure it was nothing like this. This is the return of the good old-fashioned monster movie, with a bunch of cluless people literally stumbling into death.
Acting: 5/10 - Not bad considering the fact that they all have funny accent and are mostly dubbed. Everybody probably acted to the max, because they knew that they would never be allowed to work in movies again.
Violence: 6/10 - You gotta love a movie that has a scene featuering a man whose eyeball explodes in a shower of gore and blood worms.
Nudity: 8/10 - Two annoying teens are devoured after doing what comes natural. When the couple steps off the bed, the bedroom floor is filled with slugs. Exactly how long did they have illicit sex? He must be one demon lover!
Coolness: 5/10 - The effects are repelent and it's a million times funnier than Plan 9 from outer space.
