Cameron Mitchell stars as the owner of the apartment building that becomes the site of the grisly action. Three attractive (and naked) female residents of the building, all second floor tenants, are found dead - victims of an appaling multiple murder. All three seem to have met their deaths via the use of one or another type of instrument common to the well-equipped handyman.
The Toolbox murders is never anything but grim, the story line is senseless, there is no suspense or mystery, and we know right away that Cameron Mitchell is the killer (even in his ski mask). I've seen triple X features with more intelligence, watch it only under extreme duress.
Investigation finished: 2001-02-25
Story: 0/10 - This is a very confused film, it has no storyline and it offers no explanations whatsoever. It's a film based solely on undressing women and killing them. The ending informs us that this is a true story (yeah! and so was E.T.).
Acting: 0/10 - Well, they do their best, and that is obviously not much.
Violence: 9/10 - We get to see extensive use of an electric drill, a hammer, a screwdriver, and a nail gun. What these tools are supposed to represent, we will never know.
Nudity: 10/10 - I feel sorry for the women in this film, it must have been a truly degrading experience. A woman is killed after she has finished masturbating in her bathtub (nice Dennis, nice), the killer explains that the women are killed for committing unnatural acts. I might be liberal, but I don't consider masturbating in the privacy of your own home as an unnatural act, sorry!
Coolness: 0/10 - Sure, if you're Ted BUNDY! It's not even fun to make fun of, it's really just kind of painful to watch.
