The New York ripper
(1982)
Director: Lucio Fulci
Starring: Jack Hedley, Almanta Keller, Howard Ross, Alessandra Delli Colli
our comment. "...no one in his cast could pass a basic acting class."
A blade-wielding psychopath is on the loose, turning The Big Apple bright red with the blood of beautiful young women (sounds familiar?). As NYPD detectives follow the trail of butchery from the decks of the Staten Island Ferry to the sex shows of Times Square, each brutal murder (and they are truly brutal) becomes a sadistic taunt. It sort of delivers an explanation at the end, but you'll be too disgusted and freaked out to give a shit.

Makes you think that any bozo can make a horror film, or a soundtrack for that matter. This film will totally insult your intelligence, don't say I didn't warn you!

Story: 0/10 - A slasher kills "loose" women in NY and talks with a Donald Duck voice (!?)

Acting: 1/10 - Seems as if Fulci made damn sure that no one in his cast could pass a basic acting class.

Violence: 10/10 - Holy shit! This is the most disguisting piece of celluloid I have ever sat through, and I've seen my share of gore and dementia. Not for the squeamish!

Nudity: 10/10 - The sufficient sleaze and sex bring it all down to the proper level of swampland video.

Coolness: 0/10 - The perfect nights entertainment for anyone who thinks it's fun to watch a naked and pretty blonde sliced open by a razor, you know who you are!
