After their parents die in a car crash, two all-American teens, Loren and Abby go to live with relatives in a small Florida town. But trouble begins once members of a vicious gang, led by Dutra bet on who'll be the first to seduce the innocent Abby. When she spurns their obscene advances, the thugs embark on a sadistic campaign of vandalism, arson and assault.
The savagery escalates until Loren must defend himself and his sister (the cops are as always incompetent no-gooders) in a brutal fight to the death in a carnival midway.
This movie is actually quite pathetic, and it's surprisingly funny when it's at it's most serious. Watch it with some friends and a fridge full of beer.
Investigation finished: 2001-03-15
Story: 4/10 - A strange mix between "The Karate Kid" and "Friday the 13th", filled with 80s cliché and cheesy swamp trash dialogue.
Acting: 5/10 - James Spader does his best to be obnoxious, but besides that everyone is pretty lame.
Violence: 5/10 - Death by carneval, one guy is decapitated by a roller coasters and another is killed when he falls of the Ferris wheel.
Nudity: 0/10 - Rated R, but I have no idea why.
Coolness: 2/10 - It has an incredibly dumb intro scene with probably the cheesiest theme song ever, makes "Roadhouse" and "Youngblood" look like oscar winners.
