In ancient China, one of the gratest warriors of all time, Li Mu Bai has found peace with himself and decided to give his trusted sword to a respected leader in Beijing. He hands the sword over to his lifelong partner Yu Shu Lien, so she can pass it on. Mu Bai himself is going to the Wudan mountain, where all warriors go to practice. This is the same mountain where Mu Bai's mentor was killed by a mysterious villian.
In Beijing Shu Lien meets the beautiful and seemingly innocent Guvernors daughter. She is destined to be married, but dreams of being a warrior. Mu Bai's sword is stolen the same night by a warrior dressed in black, and Yu Shu Lien suspects that the Guvernor's daughter is not at all as sweet and innocent as she seems...

Story: 7/10 - This is more of a visuall treat from the always talented Ang Lee, but it's got the right amount of fighting, romance and intelligence.
Acting: 8/10 - John Woo favourite Chow Yun Fat is very good as the honourable warrior, but it's Michelle Yeoh who totally steals the show.
Violence: 4/10 - A lot of martial arts and swordfights, but never any graphic violence. This is definitely not "Shogun Assasin".
Nudity: 0/10 - Without the fighting this would have been the ultimate chickflick. This is definitely not "Supervixens".
Coolness: 9/10 - As far as effects go this movie picks up where "The Matrix" left of, martial art hasn't been this cool since Bruce Lee died. Pisses on crap like Jackie Chan and Jet Li.
