O brother where art thou?
(2000)
Director: Joel & Ethan Coen
Starring: George Clooney, John Turturro, Tim Blake Nelson, Holly Hunter, John Goodman
our comment. "I have yet to see an actor give a lousy performance in a Coen film."
Three 1920's convicts escape from jail intent on getting to the loot stashed away by one of them. As this is at his house soon to be flooded by a new dam, speed is of the essence. They find themselves fast-talking their way out of one jam after another, and along the way not only have to be wary of riverside sirens but even get to make a pretty good country record.

Quirky, great characters and fast-paced, all you can expect from good old Joel & Ethan picture, Oh! and it's got John Goodman!

Story: 8/10 - Actually based on Homer's "The Odyssey", but you'll hardly ever notice. All and all a funny little story with all the typical Coen-bros. weirdness.

Acting: 9/10 - I have yet to see an actor give a lousy performance in a Coen film.

Violence: 2/10 - Very Pg-13, but what's with all the cow violence in films these days. Maybe Gary Larsson has got something to do with it.

Nudity: 0/10 - Nope, but those sirens we're gorgeous.

Coolness: 7/10 - Not as cool as Miller's crossing or The Big Lebowski, but still tons of cool stuff piled together...
