Slaughter
(1972)
Director: Jack Starrett
Starring: Jim Brown, Stella Stevens, Rip Torn, Don Gordon
our comment. "...it gets right down to the ass-kickin’ and bitch-slappin’."
Ex-Green beret Slaughter sets out to get the mafia men who blew up his folks’ car….with them still in it! But when he blows up a planeload of mob henchman – he finds himself the pawn of Feds who were also on the trail. Ordered to tail the mob murderers to South America, Slaughter will use any means possible – from bedding a beautiful mafia babe to blowing up a few vehicles of his own – to get his man!

Watching Jim Brown kick ass is just so much fun since he seems to have developed a genuine taste for it, he just loves to kick the living crap out of people. One of my new-found favourites!

Story: 9/10 - This no-brainer doesn’t give a shit about story, it gets right down to the ass-kickin’ and bitch-slappin’. Slaughter takes on the mob and a slaughter it is.

Acting: 6/10 - Jim Brown is El Mucho Macho and he does his best to out-perform Steven Seagal, Stella Stevens is nothing more than nude as his main squeze.

Violence: 7/10 - Jim Brown is as tough as they come, he kicks everybody’s ass. This is not one righteous dude.

Nudity: 8/10 - plenty of gratitous nudity slows down the action, or is it the other way around. Well, you decide.

Coolness: 10/10 - Beside "Black Caesar" this is the coolest blaxploitation flick, it’s ten times more action-packed and powerful than "Shaft". Billy Preston provided the title song.
