Big Jack stars as Jerry Black a detective driven to seek the truth, and driven into the darker reaches of his own mind by obsession. A murder suspect confessed, and then took his own life. Case closed?. Not for Nevada cop Jerry Black. He has his own instincts about the crime. And even though he's ready to begin a gone-fishin' early retirement, he promised the victim's family he'd find the killer.

A lot of strong performances from an all-star cast makes this odd little item a very watchable psychological thriller.

Story: 6/10 - quirky and different, not for fans of Michael Bay popcorn drivel.

Acting: 9/10 - Jack does what Jack does, and the cameos include Helen Mirren, Mickey Rourke, Vanessa Redgrave and Benicio del Toro.

Violence: 4/10 - Has a suicide sequence that almost tops Full Metal Jacket.

Nudity: 0/10 - Since Sean Penn always casts his wife, I would imagine that there's no room for that.

Coolness: 5/10 - The ending is sort of unpredictable and new, but you'll probably forget the whole thing in a couple of days.
