Proof of life
(2000)
Director: Taylor Hackford
Starring: Meg Ryan, Russell Crowe, David Morse, Pamela Reed, David Caruso
our comment. "Does Taylor Hackford have a hard-on for threesomes?"
Peter Bowman, an American engineer in a Latin American country is captured by anti-government forces. When the rebels learn his identity they demand million for his safe return. However, his U.S. employer is on the verge of insolvency and will not provide the ransom. Peter's wife Alice is forced to deal with the matter on her own. She retains the services of freelance professional hostage negotiator and all-round good guy Terry Thorne (is it just me or does Taylor Hackford have a hard-on for threesomes?). With the help of a fellow negotiator and a trio of highly trained mercenaries, Terry mounts a bold operation to rescue Peter from the ruthless (and dumb as fuck, might I add) terrorists who value money over life.

Brought to you by the man who brought us such "classics" as "Against all odds" and "Blood in, blood out", maybe you shouldn't quit your day job just yet mr. Hackford. Sap!

Story: 1/10 - Dumb-ass gets kidnapped by dumb-asses, and his dumb-assed wife hires a smart-ass to go get him. Yippi!

Acting: 5/10 - Not all that bad considering the work load, but Meg Ryan seems sort of mis-cast.

Violence: 2/10 - Blah!

Nudity: 0/10 - What the fuck is Meg Ryan doing in this film, it's not like she's naked or anything.

Coolness: 0/10 - Can't seem to find any, no!
