A Nightmare on Elm street
(1984)
Director: Wes Craven
Starring: John Saxon, Ronee Blakley, Heather Langenkamp, Johnny Depp
our comment. "Too bad it suffers from a really dumb ending."
Suburban schoolgirl Nancy Thompson is having nightmares. Something monstrous and unstoppable in her haunted sleep wants to kill her. But she has much more to fear, her high-school friends are having the same fiendish dream and they are being butchered - systematically slaughtered in their sleep by the predatory monster of their shared nightmare. When the baffled police ignore her chilling explanation, Nancy prepares to traverse into the hellish realm of nightmares to wage her own extraordinary battle with the ghastly killer.

Feverish, genuinely frightening horror film about Freddy Krueger, unqestionably the horror icon of the 80s.

Story: 8/10 - A horror movie with a cool plot, now that's something we don't see everyday.

Acting: 5/10 - A bunch of B-movie regulars, but they're more likable than you would expect.

Violence: 9/10 - I can imagine Wes Craven on the set going; "We need more blood here people!"

Nudity: 1/10 - Freddy has hot steamy sex with the teenagers before he kills them, NOT!

Coolness: 7/10 - Clever shock ideas and effects, too bad it suffers from a really dumb ending.

F/X: 8/10 - Well, the blood looks real, so I guess that's a good thing huh!
