Henry - Portrait of a serial killer
(1986)
Director: John McNaughton
Starring: Michael Rooker, Tom Towles, Tracy Arnold
our comment. "The MPAA gave it an X-rating for 'general tone'!?"
Henry is a curly-haired, emotionless, illiterate, part-time exterminator who killed his mother and lives by the motto "It's either you or them". He's addicted to killing, knows it's easy to get away with, and carefully plans the murders, using different methods each time. His roommate is a dense, crude, impressionable drug-dealing TV addict named Ottis: Both are ex-cons. Ottis' blue-eyed blond sister, Becky, leaves her husband and moves in with the deadly duo, landing a job as a shampoo girl.

One of the most disturbing and frightening horror films ever made, much more terrifying than graphic cinematic schlock.

Story: 8/10 - This chilling and all too believable story is loosely based on real-life serial killer Henry Lee Lucas.

Acting: 9/10 - Rooker moved on to the major scene after this, starring in films like JFK and Mississippi Burning.

Violence: 7/10 - Not many on-screen acts of violence, but the scene where the killers watch themselves at work on video is extremely disturbing!

Nudity: 5/10 - The MPAA gave it an X rating, not for sex or violence wich it clearly contains, but for "general tone"!?

Coolness: 6/10 - In fear of being labelled demented, I will state that it's a good film, but cool. Nah! I dunno!
