Hannibal
(2000)
Director: Ridley Scott
Starring: Anthony Hopkins, Julianne Moore, Ray Liotta, Giancarlo Giannini
our comment. "This movie is a train-ride to Hell without ice-cubes in your gin/tonic."
When F.B.I. Agent Clarice Starling is blamed for a botched drug bust, her boss Paul Krendler makes a media circus of her humiliation, which catches the attention of Lecter. Now a hardened veteran, she begins recieving letters from the twisted genius, who remains obsessed with her, YAWN! Yet she's not the only one interested in drawing out the psychopath, now lecturing on the Renaissance in Florence. A greedy and incompetent (actually everyone in this film except for Lecter and Starling are totally lacking any form of intelligence) Italian Detective and a wealthy pedophile are both looking for him. But they're no match for Hannibal's (surprise, surprise) coyly satanic ubiquity, which bewilders his quickly drugged foes before he administers a punishment sufficiently grotesque to suit his sense of amusement.

How does a director manage to go from Gladiator to this, and may I point out that it's not nice (It's downright evil) luring people into seeing a movie with a story that is as entertaining as drinking stale piss!

Your e-mail:
Story: 0/10 - The book was at least just bad, this movie a trainride to hell without ice-cubes in your gin/tonic.

Acting: 4/10 - Jodie Foster was great to not appear in this film, 4 points to her.

Violence: 8/10 - Lucio Fulci directed it, you say. No, it was Ridley Scott, and that name allows you to get away with anything!

Nudity: 0/10 - Noooo!, that would be tacky and sleazy, let's cut some poor schmucks top off instead.

Coolness: 0/10 - Sure, the coolest part was that it had an open ending. I smell sequel, rats!
